Brittany's Life

Brittany has a new camera, and is taking some pictures to put here. Check back soon.

In the meantime, here's a picture she took of her Nephew and Niece.

Aren't they cute. Here is my niece Brandy and my

nephew Brandon Jr. On June 29,2003 my second niece was born, her name is Briella.

Once Briella can hold her head up, I'll put a picture of her on here too.

As you can see, On Saturday I will be going to

Aaron Carter's concert. I really like Aaron Carter

he's my favorite pop singer, so I really hope I have fun!

August 26 Update

As Brittany lies fast asleep in her room

Dave is updating her area. She can edit it later if she likes. Dave just has a lot of pressure to throw something up here, because people are complaining about the infrequency with which the site is being updated.

As you may know, we moved into the house in mid-July. Brittany missed her friends, so shortly before school started, she had her friend Sarah over to spend the night. Les enfants wanted to go to Encanto park on Saturday afternoon, so I obliged. Brittany wanted to take a canoe through the lagoon, so the first place we headed was the boathouse. It didn't open until 4pm. It was now 2pm. How do we kill two hours? Answer: go to Enchanted Island and ride the rides for a while. Unfortunately, the rides don't start running until 5pm. The girls wanted to go swimming instead, so we wandered back to the house where they grabbed bathing suits and towels and we headed to the Encanto Park pool. The girls swam uneventfully until about 3:30, when we got ready to go canoeing. We waited around a bit for the boathouse to open and the girls chased a big goose that was by the lagoon. Sarah managed to make contact with the beast.

The girls locate the target, stalk it, then celebrate the hit as the goose swims away.

From the "Stevie Wonder School of Navigation and Rowing," both girls demonstrate their ability to row with their eyes wide shut.

Six dollars for thirty minutes of rowing around the lagoon and debris-choked canals and the girls were tired of it. They were actually tired of it after about eight minutes, but somebody wanted to get his six dollars worth. We returned the canoe and headed toward Enchanted Island.

The first ride was the train. When the wind is just right at the house, we can hear the lonesome whistle of the Encanto Park Express blowing.

"Who is that behind those Foster Grants?"

From the train, it was on to the carousel.

From the carousel, we went to the "parachute thingies." Brittany and I must have ridden this about eight times. She wanted to sit in each of the seats. It helped that there was no line.

Sarah elected to stay on the ground. She doesn't like heights.

Here's Brittany, looking down...

...at Sarah, the teeny dot in the middle of the picture, under the canopy, between the tree and the multi-hued awning.

Here's me and B, up in the air. Photo by Sarah.

From the parachute thingies, we went to the twirly thingies, where Brittany just kept wanting me to spin the car faster.
We finally found a ride Sarah liked! Brittany enjoyed it, too. There were a bunch of rides the girls wanted to go on, but since this was kiddie-land, you had to be under a certain height to ride most rides. Both Brittany and Sarah were too tall to do the bumper boats and airplanes and cars. Oh, that we still had Legend City, so they could've actually ridden something less lame than a twenty-five-cent Ferris wheel! It's only  two months until the State Fair and real rides.
Exhausted, we headed back to the house. Leisa took Sarah home. I took a nap. Brittany started school the following Monday. She's going to Magnet Traditional. She signed up for band and wants to play the saxophone, just like Lisa Simpson. We rented a sax the next weekend. Lucky us.

Don't her fingers look like Robert Johnson's?

After nearly a month, Brittany seems to be enjoying the school and doing well at it.

Look at B stand on her toes to be as tall as Sarah!
