Week twenty seven actually began with drywall texture, but that doesn't show up very well on the web, so as far as I'm concerned, it began on Tuesday (Monday was Memorial Day) with the delivery of the doors. They're in Justin's room, waiting to be installed.
Here are the doors in Brittany's room.
Here's the linen closet door in the upstairs bathroom.
This is the master bathroom door, installed, with molding.
This is the door that has me worried. The hidden door is supposed to go in the opening to the wine cellar. It'll be hinged on the left side. I'm worried that the hidden door will hit the doorknob of the door leading to the area under the stairs. I spoke with Mark about this and he spoke soothing words to me, just as I do to Leisa!
Here's the living room, almost ready for paint. They still
haven't textured the far wall.
We wandered through the house over the weekend, choosing colors and writing the names on pieces of orange tape, which we stuck to the wall. This lets the painters know what color to paint that wall. You can see a piece of tape on the fireplace. That'll be painted Cottage White. |

This is the kitchen on Thursday afternoon. The green color on the right is Pale Gold. The other wall is Inside Passage.
Here is the intersection of the two colors, along with the
cottage white of the ceiling.
Pretty cool. I'm writing this on Friday morning, waiting for the appraiser at Leisa's house. He's now 45 minutes late. I'll head back over to the house this afternoon and take more pictures. Justin's room should be done, as should B's. And we also have B's Stanford Nine results, which will be scanned and posted on the Brittany report in the next day or two. Check back soon. |
